The Gideons: Send The Word

Image
In January, we were visited by Rich Young from the Gideons, who shared how their ministry touches lives in various communities that need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a partner with them, First Presbyterian has the opportunity to co-minister with them by supporting their work in so many areas of our society. We can do this by praying for them on a regular basis, by volunteering with them, and by financially contributing to the spreading of the Word of God by the Bibles and New Testaments provided to those who need to know about the love of our Lord. Many of our congregation have been faithful to support their work, and we have the opportunity to continue this partnership now.

In the hallway outside the Church Office is a stand with Gideons Expression Cards that can gift to others the donation of a Bible or New Testament, along with a testimony of how a Gideon placed Bible helped change a life. This is a powerful way to provide the Word to those who inhabit hospitals, hotels,…

New Denomination Discussion Series

Image
Pastor Albert was in Orlando during January attending the second meeting of The Fellowship of Presbyterians. Now that he is back, we will be holding a series of Wednesday night discussions in the Fellowship Hall on February 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd at 6:45 p.m until 8:00p.m. which explain the theology and polity of this new denomination which has been named the Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians (ECO). ECO papers on Theology and Polity are available online if you would like to download and/or read it ahead of time. Copies are also available in the church office. They are very interesting reads, and will give you a good idea of what the ECO denomination is all about.
Childcare is available, and youth will be having a Bible Study during this time, so feel free to bring the kids.
Come at 6:00pm to enjoy a family style dinner together.
