Kevin's Farewell Announcement
It is with great excitement, a little bit of sadness, and assuredness of God’s Call on my life that I announce my departure from Walla Walla Presbyterian Church as the Director of Youth Ministries. In response to God’s timing, I leave to begin my grad studies at San Francisco Theological Seminary, pursuing a Masters of Divinity in order to move toward ordination as a pastor.
I can’t begin to tell you how much the community of WWPC has meant to me over the past three and a half years. You have become my family and friends, encouraging and supporting me and the ministries entrusted to my care. It is that sense of camaraderie that I take with me as I prepare to move to San Anselmo, CA at the end of January, beginning classes on February 2nd.
I am confident that our youth will be well cared for by the volunteers, staff, and parents that will make up the transition team over the next few months. Their passion, faithfulness, and interest in building a faith foundation for teens to stand on will continue to prepare and equip the youth as they learn about our Lord, and what it means to be a Christ-follower.
I ask for your prayers over the youth ministries during the interim period, and also for myself as I enter studies that will challenge, encourage, and develop my theological mind in order to better serve the Lord and those who He calls me to be in community with.
Thank you for all of your love, energy, prayer, and support that you have given – and no doubt will continue to give – to the young people at WWPC. I have felt the caring that makes us a family of faith in Christ Jesus, and know that you will continue to touch the lives of children, teens, adults, and families that make up the Church on the corner of 1st and Birch.
I will be sure to keep in touch as I take these next steps on the Journey that God is allowing me to make toward further study of His Word, message, and shepherding. Feel free to contact me anytime with questions, comments, or just to catch up on how we are all doing.
In His service (and yours),
